2011-2012 NYSL Grassroots Winter Academy

NYSL/Beach FC is pleased to provide the Grassroots Winter Academy to enhance the enthusiasm of youth players in the NYSL program. Players will be guided through organized games and activities in order to develop listening skills, agility, balance, ball skills, and foot-eye coordination. The Grassroots Academy will also incorporate the concepts of teamwork and cooperation. The program is designed for players of ALL ABILITIES who are looking to learn and improve their soccer skills while getting a lot of extra touches on the ball. Training will include individual exercises, small-sided activities, and small-sided games. All training will be held at the RAVE Futsal Facility located at Shipps Corner. The facility is a state of the art Brazilian futsal style training center with heat and a sport court surface specifically designed for futsal. There will be 2 sessions offered. The first session begins the week of December 12, 2011. Cost is $50 and includes 5 classes, professional instruction, and indoor facility.

This program is a great opportunity to get training from the professional NYSL/ Beach FC staff. All sessions will be conducted by NYSL Technical Director, Brian Hinkey as well as professional Beach FC staff coaches. Brian Hinkey is a former professional player and holds an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and the USSF National Youth License.

All futsal sessions will be held at the Shipps Corner indoor facility which contains three regulation futsal courts. For directions,click here

Session 2 will be on the following weeks: Jan. 23, 30, Feb. 6, 13, 20
